Tupper Lake Wayfinding Signs

Tupper Lake, New York

Working closely with the Village of Tupper Lake, their project manager, and E3 Planning and Design, Chroma designed a new family of wayfinding signs for the community. The picturesque village on its famous Adirondack lake will be enhanced with a sign system that welcomes motorists and guides them to the village commercial centers, civic, and recreational destinations. To evaluate signage opportunities, the design team performed a detailed study of the village roadway network and destinations. We found that the area was “over signed” and suggested replacing existing signs where possible so that the new system would fit in. The new signs are part of a branding program, they incorporate the village logo and use the classic Adirondack brown color to introduce a lake-blue sign that aptly represents the village’s optimism for a bright future.
